Well, we did it! We brought home our brand new Class A motor home! We now have a 2006 National RV Dolphin 5342. Its got a Workhorse chassis, a GM Vortec 8100, 340 HP engine & an Allison transmission. "Dolly" is 35'1" long & 11'9" tall.
Right now we've got it parked alongside the driveway, but will be installing a pad with 50 amp service & water hook-up in the backyard behind our pool. This way we can use Dolly as a cabana house while it's pool season. Sort of a dual-use vehicle!
We spent this weekend clearing out low-hanging limbs along the driveway so that we didn't block ourselves in the garage. Thankfully, it was a perfect weather day for this, & the kids were a huge help lugging the branches to our dumping spot.
We plan to dry camp in our driveway soon to test out the systems, & already have a weekend trip to Maine planned for May. We can't wait to start camping!!
