Getting closer! Our big “Cruising America” trip is only a few short weeks away & boy! Are we anxious!
We drove up to LL Bean this past weekend & bought more “gear”, aka toys & clothes. My big idea is to have lots of lightweight layers, preferably that “wick” moisture & dry quickly. This way, I can easily hand wash most of our things in the kitchen sink & hang to dry overnight, saving me many trips to the campground laundry rooms. Fortunately, stores are trying to clear out their summer clothes to make room for the fall/winter styles, so we’ve been able to score some nice sale prices.
We also attended Circus Smirkus with friends Val, Greg & Monica. They had these great water canisters wrapped in an insulating wrap with a long strap. Perfect for the kids to wear when we are hiking/exploring in the hotter drier climates, & they were very inexpensive at CVS. Of course, I bought the camel back backpack at LL Bean for myself! Hey, I know I’ll be the one carring everything else - camera, money, snacks, guide books, etc. – so I think it’s OK that I get the cool (pun intended!) pack!
The RV has an appointment with Flagg for its “fix the oops” visit. These are the little things that are broken, missing, etc., that get discovered as you try out everything in the RV, also known as the “shake down” trips. I also have to get it to a garage for its tune up. I want to make sure it is in tip-top operating condition before I head off for the west coast!
Lists & more lists, gotta make my lists (oh, yeah, & actually do the things on the lists!)
